More Than A Food Hall: Check Out Our Great Local Beer Selection

It’s no secret that New Mexico loves its craft beer. From Santa Fe Brewing to Bosque to La Cumbre and Marble, and more, it seems like a new amazing craft brewery pops up every day out here. In fact, New Mexico currently boasts 88 local craft breweries, according to New Mexico Magazine. That’s a lot of local beer! But it can be tough to get to all 111 taprooms across the state.

At 505 Food Hall, we share New Mexico’s commitment to great beer, which is why we’re so much more than just a food hall. At 505, we pride ourselves on the local beer selection available at Moonwalk and Packie’s. Together, the two vendors boast a local beer selection of over 40 different kinds of suds. That’s more than a lot of local bars can say. Kick back, crack open another cold one, and explore our two alcohol vendors with us. With such a great local beer selection, craft cocktail options, delicious food to snack on, and events that’ll keep you and your friends entertained, you may just find that 505 Food Hall is your new favorite happy hour joint in Albuquerque.

Moonwalk: More than A Killer Local Beer Selection

Tucked into the back left corner of 505 Food Hall is a funky little drinking spot called Moonwalk. True to its name, the bar features cosmic decor and a giant full moon rises over a small corner stage near the bar. A quiet respite from the hubbub of Central, Moonwalk not only is aesthetically pleasing, it’s also a top-notch bar with a killer local beer selection, hand-crafted cocktails, and plenty of local wines to sample.

At Moonwalk, you can unwind with draft beers from Ex Novo Brewery, Bosque Brewery, Marble Brewery, Sierra Blanca, and Sandia Cider Company, or you can try some of Moonwalk’s own house brews. Moonwalk’s brewery produces a Mexican lager that’s 5.0% ABV, a steam beer that’s 5.2% ABV (their take on the popular California brewing style), or the Moonwalk IPA, which is a bit stronger, at 7.0% ABV. If you don’t mind drinking canned beer, Moonwalk’s local beer selection doubles in size, with beers of all varieties from Santa Fe Brewery, Steelbender, La Cumbre, and Tractor.

If beer isn’t your thing—or if you’re on a date with someone who doesn’t drink beer—Moonwalk also boasts a great selection of local wines, from vineyards like Vara, Sheehan, St. Clair, and Noisy Water. Or, order yourself a hand-crafted cocktail featuring one of Moonwalk’s distilled spirits. No matter how you choose to spend happy hour, at Moonwalk, it’s always fun, with weekly bar trivia and other events to keep yourself entertained while you sip.

Packie’s: Brews, Sports, and Hot Dogs

If you’re more of a sports fan, you’ll want to swing by Packie’s during baseball season this summer. A small corner bar at the front of 505 Food Hall, Packie’s is serious about sports, with four big TVs playing all the best games at any given time. For some reason, sports bars are hard to come by in downtown Albuquerque, so if you’re looking for your spot to catch the game and sample a local beer or two, Packie’s is it.

Not only does Packie’s serve up some of Burque’s favorite pints, you can also snag a triple play combo—a hot dog, a beer, and a shot for only $16. Or, if you’d rather indulge in a burger from Stackers, a bowl of ramen from Naruto, or a Thicc pizza, Packie’s is a great place to nosh while you down a couple of beers.

Packie’s is a great sports bar, it’s true, but it also packs a serious local beer selection for its size. While you’re at Packie’s, you can get a pour of a draft beer from Marble, Santa Fe Brewery, Ex Novo, La Cumbre, Moonwalk’s brewery, or Sandia Cider Company. Best of all, Packie’s also sells package liquor, so if you need to keep the party going at home, you can get a six pack or a bottle of your favorite local spirit to crack open when you get back to your house.

So next time you’re looking for a great place to snag that after-work beer, check out 505 Food Hall. We have a local beer selection that puts other neighborhood bars to shame, fun activities for you and your friends, and lots of new food options that you can try. Swing by for our happy hour—one of the best in the city—or just grab a cold one with your lunch or dinner. Either way, you’re in for a great local beer selection and a wonderful dining experience at 505 Food Hall.
